About

One of Gladfield's crystal (caramel) malts, made from lower-to-mid nitrogen barley that is soaked, germinated, left wet and then heated to convert the sugars inside the grain, before an even roast in their purpose-built drum. Light Crystal adds mild sweet caramel flavour and body. Like all crystal malts it has no diastatic power, so it must be used with a base malt, and is best used fresh.
