About
A traditional bittering and dual-purpose variety bred in England in 1934 and now grown mostly in Germany and the US Pacific Northwest, with the two regions differing in character (German is smoother and more herbal; US is more resinous). Efficient and reliable for bittering, it carries mild herbal, woody and pine notes with a subtle mint, and is a classic base for traditional European and American lagers and ales, including California Common.
