About

Weyermann's standard pilsner malt — one of the most widely used pilsner base malts in the world. Highly modified, very pale, with a clean and neutral flavour, it is the benchmark base for German lager styles and many Belgian ales. It has less malt character than the premium Barke variety but is consistent and reliable: the natural choice when you want a pale base that stays out of the way of hops and yeast.

Usage

Use as the base malt up to 100%. Very high diastatic power easily converts adjuncts and specialty malts. Single infusion or step mash both work; ideal under pilsners, Helles, Kölsch, wits and saisons where a clean, neutral base is wanted.
