Weyermann Bohemian Pilsner Malt
base malt · Weyermann · Germany
Continental pilsner base malt kilned from Bohemian-type spring barley. A touch maltier and more characterful than standard German Pilsner malt while staying pale and clean — the workhorse base for Czech lagers and Belgian pale ales. The floor-malted version is the premium sibling; the regular Bohemian Pilsner is more than sufficient under a sugar- and yeast-forward grist.

About
A classic Bohemian-style pilsner malt from Weyermann, kilned from Bohemian-type barley for the rich, bready sweetness and golden colour of Czech brewing tradition. A touch maltier and more characterful than standard German Pilsner while staying pale and clean — the workhorse base for authentic Czech pilsners, Kellerbier and Helles, and a fine foundation for Belgian pale ales. The floor-malted version is the premium sibling; this regular Bohemian Pilsner is more than sufficient under a sugar- and yeast-forward grist.

Usage
Use as the base malt up to 100%. Pairs naturally with Saaz and Czech or Bohemian lager yeast for traditional pilsners, and is equally at home under blondes and saisons. A decoction or step mash brings out its bready depth.
