About
A stronger version of Gladfield's Biscuit Malt, Brown Malt is made from green chitted malt so it builds good amber colour without the astringency that husk damage can bring. It gives a dry biscuit, toasted-hazelnut flavour with a light roast edge and a deep amber hue, and is ideal in small amounts in porters, stouts, dark ales and dunkels.

Usage
No diastatic power; mash with a base malt. Use up to ~15%, and sparingly for accent — its dry, roasty-nutty character builds quickly. Classic for porters, stouts and dark ales wanting amber depth without harsh roast.
