About

Pure glucose (dextrose monohydrate), derived from corn starch. It is 100% fermentable, so it adds alcohol without body, flavour or colour, and dries the beer out. It is the most common priming sugar in homebrewing and is also used in the kettle or fermenter to boost OG without adding malt character. Being a monohydrate it has slightly lower fermentability per kg than sucrose.
