About
A light caramel/crystal malt from German maltster Bestmalz, closely comparable to Weyermann Carahell. It contributes light caramel and honey sweetness, a golden colour lift and modest body without the deeper raisin or burnt notes of darker crystals. Brewers reach for it in light German styles — Helles, Pilsner, Helles Bock — and as a gentle caramel touch in pale ales, and it stands in cleanly for Weyermann Carahell when supply is tight. Like all crystal malts it has no diastatic power and must be mashed with a base malt.

Usage
Steeped or mashed with a base malt; no conversion of its own. Typical 5–15% of grist, up to ~20% before it turns cloying in light styles. Pairs with German and NZ pilsner malts; avoid stacking with heavy crystal or roast that would bury its light character.
